In Episode 23 Mitch & Shane welcome singer/songwriter/guitarist Patrick Krief into the studio ahead of Patrick’s launch of his new album Dovetale (June 7 at O Patro Vys 356 Mont-Royal E.)
Mitch discusses his recent trip to New Orleans for the 50th edition of their Jazz Festival while Shane and Patrick weigh in with tales of their own visits, populated by characters as diverse as award winning writer Joseph Boyden and a few headless ghosts.
Patrick also recounts his over decade long tenure with the Dears, which included a couple of appearances on Letterman; and a drunken stupor he somehow managed to turn into a mostly coherent spot on The Carson Daly Show.
But even through some heavy moments you can count on Shane, the man of a hundred voices, to provide the comic relief.
Musically, we get three gorgeous new songs from Patrick and lean on a couple of New Orleans classics by Professor Longhair and Dr. John.
In honour of The Big Easy, Podcast 23 is a lot of fun and highly dramatic. It might even be haunted.
